On June 12, 2012, Dr. Siobhan O’Flynn presented a workshop on Transmedia 101. The workshop was targeted to Canadian content producers (film/TV/web/mobile – fiction/documentary) and outlined strategies for working with rich media/transmedia content in a simple, doable, and budget friendly way.
In this compact workshop, we:
- defined transmedia storytelling & world building & how & why these can support branding
- examined recent case studies of transmedia storytelling & model possible roll-out strategies
- explored multi-screens, new platforms, apps & games, & discussed when & how to use them
- considered how to use social media to your advantage
- looked to successful & innovative ways of creating additional revenue streams
